Thomas Carroll Carlock

Thomas "Tommy" Carroll Carlock of Middlebrook, MO, entered into Heaven on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the age of 72 years and 5 months. He was born October 9, 1951, in St. Louis, MO, to the late William and Helen (Sutton) Carlock. Thomas is survived by his son Thomas Carlock, Jr. and fiancée Sadie Gotsch of Rhineland, MO, a special daughter he raised, Rhonda Scott of Lansing, MI, two brothers, Bill Carlock of Middlebrook, MO, and Greg Carlock of Sedalia, MO, six sisters, Senta Boykin of Ozark, AL, Pat Strange and husband John of Ironton, MO, Mary Hoagland and husband Dave of Sedalia, MO, Candy Scurlock of Kingman, AZ, Liz Clutts and husband Steve of Sedalia, MO, and Susen Shelton of Windsor, MO; 15 grandchildren and one on the way, Christian, Hannah, Riddick, Ashton, Caliber, (Huntley on the way), Wanda, Elmer, Jr., Corinthia, Cam, Cal, Kaleb, Kas, Rocky, Levi, and Lance; three great-grandchildren, his fiancée and companion for the last eight years Debbie Jones, 16 nieces, 17 nephews, special siblings Kim Sutton of Tomball, TX and Louis Sutton of Tallahassee, FL, and many more loving family members and friends. Thomas is preceded in rest by his parents, a brother Roy Carlock, a sister Betty Campbell, and several pet companions, Little Buddy and Molly. Tommy was a proud U.S. Army veteran, serving in the 101st Airborne and 1st Calvary during the Vietnam War. While enlisted he earned numerous awards and achievements. His professional life includes diverse careers but the one he talked the most about was travelling the country for 24 years as an over the road truck driver. Even after returning from a long career of truck driving, his passion for travel continued. He was consistently the first to enthusiastically declare "Let's go" whenever family trips, vacations, or random road trips came about. He enjoyed fishing, hanging out with family; especially his grandchildren. But no matter what he was in the middle of, come 2:00 pm on Sunday, you'd find him watching Nascar races. He had a great sense of humor and laid back attitude which had a special ability to bring joy and light-heartedness to any situation. He was known for his kind and compassionate nature and had genuine concern for others; he was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. He cherished relationships and placed family at the center of his life. Over the past eight years he has been committed to his fiancée Debbie and her children, Courtney Johnson and husband Lawrence of Bismarck, MO, Garry "Rocky" Jones and wife Mandy of Middlebrook, MO, and Chanda Eaton and husband Cory of DeSoto, MO. Tommy leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and deep connection with those fortunate enough and blessed to know, love, and share his life's journey. Visitation for friends to gather will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, beginning at 12:00 pm and lasting until 2:00 pm from the Cole Family Chapel. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, beginning at 2:00 pm from the Cole Family Chapel. Full Military Honors will be held after the service. Elder Larry Sutton will be officiating the services.
