Raymond Leon Montgomery

Raymond Leon Montgomery of Salem, MO, and formerly of Ironton, MO, entered into rest on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at the age of 72 years, 7 months, and 1 day. He was born February 10, 1952, in St. Louis, MO, a son of the late Vernon Lee and Delorus Nadine (Littrell) Montgomery. On October 20, 2012, Raymond was united in marriage to Flora Rose who survives. Also surviving Raymond are his four children, Melinda Denton of Jonesboro, AR, Loretta Montgomery and fiancé Heath Rawlins of Farmington, MO, Mary "Crickett" Montgomery of Bismarck, MO, and Lukas Johnston and wife Jordyn; a step-son Melvin Arganbright, III and wife Gretchen of Salem, MO, nine grandchildren, Will, Aaron, Gavin, Abbey, Garrett, Payton, Amara, Claire, and Kora; two step-grandchildren, Melvin IV and Benjamin, five great-grandchildren, Brentley, Rayleigh, Maverick, Wrenlee, Waylon James, and one on the way; four brothers, Mark Montgomery of Ironton, MO, Robyn Montgomery of Ironton, MO, Vernon “Bud” Montgomery and wife Carol of Middlebrook, MO, and William “Wayne” Montgomery and wife Cheryl of Oran, MO; four sisters, Tammy Montgomery-Klinsbeck of Ironton, MO, Tracy Montgomery, Terry Lynn Corennti and husband John of St. Louis, MO, and Ural “Dee” Edith Klein of St. Louis, MO; and many more loving nieces, nephews, family members and friends. Raymond is preceded in rest by his parents, his grandfather who raised him Lee Montgomery, three brothers, Vernon Roy Montgomery in infancy, Eugene Montgomery in infancy, and a third baby brother in infancy, and a granddaughter Laiklyn. After high school, Raymond enlisted in the United States Army and the United States Navy, serving his country with pride and honor during the Vietnam War. After his military service, Raymond went on to work as a truck driver for many years, traveling all over the country. He was a member of the AM Legion, and loved spending time with his family, making them laugh, and watching the grandkids grow. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Raymond Leon Montgomery will be missed by all who were blessed to know and love him. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024, beginning at 7:00 pm from the Cole Family Funeral Home. A Visitation for friends and family to gather will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024, beginning at 5:00 pm and lasting until 7:00 pm from the Cole Family Funeral Home. Rev.
