Pamela "Pam" Sherrill

Pamela “Pam” Diane Sherrill of Ironton, MO, entered Heaven on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at the age of 69 years, 10 months, and 28 days. She was born August 31, 1954 in Ironton, MO, a daughter to the late Thomas Russell and Christena (Thomlinson) Archer. On June 16, 1973, Pam was united in marriage to Kenneth “Kennie” Sherrill who survives. Also surviving are their two loving and devoted sons, Steven Carl Sherrill of Park Hills, MO, and Kevin John Sherrill of Ironton, MO, Pam and Kennie’s “special grandkids”, Ellie Mae, Christopher, Tony, and John Harbison; four brothers, Jerry Archer of Piedmont, MO, Thomas Archer and wife Connie of Ironton, MO, Jinks Archer and wife Martha of Ironton, MO, and Al Archer and wife Mary of Ironton, MO; her mother-in-law Ada Mae Sherrill, a brother-in-law Bill Croft, and many, many more loving family members and friends. She is preceded in rest by her parents, a sister Janet Croft, and a sister-in-law Juanita Archer. After graduating from high school in 1973, Pam started working in the banking industry. She worked for A.V. Bank, U.S. Bank, Mercantile Bank, and lastly Great Southern Bank where she was Branch Manager and retired in 2017 after many years of service. Pam and Kennie are former members of the Glover Baptist Church where she was Music Director, and attended several other churches with friends and family after its closing. Pam was not one to sit around and be lazy, she was very active in her community all of her adult life. She was president of the AV Chamber of Commerce for five years, she was an active member of Our Town Tomorrow, she was on the Signer Center board, treasurer for the local Kiwanis, committee member for the National Wild Turkey Federation, and active with other organizations in our community. She was also recognized for her dedication and stellar work ethic by receiving the Bill and Ann Turner Distinguished Community Service Award for her years in the banking industry, the 110% Award, and the Woman of the Year Award from the AV Chamber of Commerce. Pam was a loving and devoted wife, mother, “special grandmother”, sister, and friend to all who were in her life. She had a positive outlook on life, even when faced with her final journey on earth. She kept and held strong to her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, a true testament to her wonderful character and loving heart. She never said a cross word about anyone, and was the sweetest woman you could have ever met. Pam Sherrill will be missed by all who were blessed to know and love her. A Visitation for friends and family to gather together will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, beginning at 4:00 pm and lasting until 8:00 pm from the Cole Family Chapel. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2024, beginning at 11:00 am from the Cole Family Chapel. Interment will follow the services in the Arcadia Valley Memorial Park in Ironton, MO. Rev. Eugene Alcorn, Elder Mark Sutton, Pastor Cody Harbison, and Rev.
