Olen Lee Midkiff

Olen Lee Midkiff, of Annapolis, MO, entered into Heaven on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at the age of 78 years and 19 days. He was born May 14, 1948, in Annapolis, MO, a son of the late Harry and Dorcy (Stevenson) Midkiff. On June 7, 1965, Olen was united in marriage to Linda Sue (Johnson) Midkiff who survives. To this union two children were born, Shawn Midkiff and wife Krystel of Annapolis, MO, and Daniel Midkiff of Crystal City, MO, both of whom survive. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Holly Womble and husband Garret, Hannah Midkiff, Kasen Midkiff, and Caven Midkiff; one great-grandchild, Parker, one brother, Earl Midkiff and wife Anna Lou, two sisters, Mae Staples and Sharon Lloyd, and a host of other loving family members and friends. He is preceded in rest by his parents, Harry and Dorcy, six brothers, Charles Edward Midkiff, John Paul Midkiff, Ronald Lee Midkiff, James Arthur "Leo" Castlie, Harry Inman Midkiff, Jr., and David Gary Midkiff; three sisters, Belle (Bone-Coy) Midkiff, Ruth Naomi Gollaher, and Beverly Ann (Funk-Vance) Midkiff. After graduating from South Iron High School, Olen joined the United States Army where he served his country with pride honor. He then worked for Ruberoid/GAF/ISP in Annapolis for 40 years, learning everything about the plant that he could, and worked very hard to support his family; he was successful in that task. He also was an extremely talented mechanic in his younger years, and took that love into his later years where he enjoyed driving classic cars, going to car shows, cruises, and fixing up one of the most beautiful trucks with his son, Shawn. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, and he was their biggest fan when they played sports in school. He loved smoking meat for people, all they had to do was supply the meat and he took care of the rest. He was a member of the American Legion and attended both Baptist Churches in Annapolis. Olen Lee Midkiff was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be missed by all who were blessed to know and love him. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, beginning at 11:00 am from the Cole Family Funeral Home. A Visitation for friends and family to gather will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026, beginning at 5:00 pm and lasting until 8:00 pm from the Cole Family Funeral Home. Interment will follow the services in the Mountain View Cemetery in Des Arc, MO. Rev. Fred Killian will be officiating the services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the South Iron Senior Beta Club in honor of Olen Lee Midkiff.
