Jerry Lee Reeves Sr.

Jerry Lee Reeves, Sr. of Ironton, MO, entered into rest on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at the age of 82 years, 1 month, and 11 days. He was born August 2, 1941, in Elvins, MO to the late Chesley Vernon and Ethel Jean (McGee) Reeves. On March 1, 1963, Jerry was united in marriage to Shirley (Hockemeyer) Reeves who survives. Also surviving are two children, Jerry Lee Reeves, II of Farmington, MO, and Kim Pickett and husband Timothy of Cape Girardeau, MO, six grandchildren, Chelsea Kay June Faries and husband Joseph, Jerry Lee “Trey” Reeves, III and significant other Rene, Asia Ann Lashley and husband Ben, Emma Pickett, Jax Logan Reeves, and Winifred Pickett; three great-grandchildren, Liam, Benny, and Henry; two brothers, Thurman Kenneth ”Kenny” Reeves and wife Jan of Arcadia, MO, and Richard E. Reeves of Lincoln, NE, and a sister-in-law Janice Reeves of Idaho. Jerry is preceded in rest by his parents, a brother Vernon Reeves, Jr., and a sister-in-law Shirley Mae Reeves. After graduating from high school, Jerry went on to study at Flat River Junior College and Lincoln University where he learned the skills and gained the knowledge to successfully run his own business. He managed and operated his own rental properties for many years to support his family which he loved dearly. When Jerry wasn’t working himself or working little Jerry and Trey to death, he could be found visiting with his many friends, traveling in his and Shirley’s 44 ft. camper trailer, teaching all his grandkids how to fish and hunt, trout fishing, deer hunting, hunting big game such as elk, going to the sprint car races, or just enjoying time with family. Jerry was a hard worker, a lifetime National Park pass holder (something he was extremely proud of), an avid traveler and outdoorsman, a volunteer fire fighter, and a 50 year plus and lifetime member of the Elks Lodge. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. Jerry Lee Reeves, Sr. will be missed by all who were blessed to know and love him. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, beginning at 11:00 am from the Cole Family Chapel. A Visitation for friends and family to gather will be held on Monday, September 18, 2023, beginning at 5:00 pm and lasting until 8:00 pm from the Cole Family Chapel. Rev. Dwight Jones will be officiating the services. Interment will follow the services in the Arcadia Valley Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Jerry’s honor to a national park of your choice.
