Marilyn Jeanette Powell of Bismarck, MO passed away on April 26, 2018 at the age of 78 years, 8 months, and 20 days. She was born August 6, 1939 in Ironton,MO, a daughter of the late Clyde and Grace Thurman Miller. On January 11, 1964 she was united in marriage to Guy Powell who survives. Surviving Marilyn are 15 nieces and nephews; Mike and Leslie Miller, Pam Restemayer, Linda Brown, Charles, Dennis, and Phillip Jones, Debbie Buford, Cathy Day, Tania Smith, Gary McEntire, Don McEntire, Gordon McEntire, Harry McEntire, Karen Thomlinson, and a host of other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Clyde Miller, and a sister Roberta Miller. Marilyn was a 1958 graduate of Ironton High School, and she worked as secretary and book keeper for the Chevrolet dealership in Ironton, and many other businesses. Marilyn was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pilot Knob for 66 years serving as Sunday school and Bible school teacher, and was Church Secretary for 41 years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and also volunteered at the food pantry. A Celebration of Life for Marilyn will be held on Monday, April 30, 2018 at 11:00 am from the Cole Family Funeral Home. Visitation will begin Sunday, April 29, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Rev.Scott Edgar will be officiating the funeral services. Interment will be in Arcadia Valley Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Pilot Knob.
