James Gus Mickan Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

James Gus Mickan of Annapolis, MO passed away June 21, 2014 at his residence at the age of 82 years, 2 months, and 17 days. He was born April 4, 1932 in Hogan, MO, a son of the late Gus Mickan and Stella Hill Mickan Spivey. On Aug. 14, 1954 he was united in marriage to Barbara Patterson who survives. To this union was born three children; Mike Mickan and wife Linda of Hogan Heights, MO, Pamela Williams and husband Dave of Lee’s Summit, MO, and Emmett Jamie Mickan of Hogan Heights. Other survivors include a brother Bill and wife Helen Mickan of Park Hills, a sister, Betty Mitchell and husband Richard of Branson; 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Nick Mickan, and two sisters, Mary Miller and Cathy Ford Smith. Jim served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from ASARCO as a Maintenance Supervisor after 38 years of service. Funeral services will be held on Wed. June 25 at 11 AM from Cole Family Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Mathes and Rev. Jerry Hawkins officiating. Visitation will begin Tuesday from 5 to 8 PM. Interment will be in Arcadia Valley Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
