Virginia "Pal" Lee Dinkins

Virginia Lee “Pal” Dinkins, née Jackson, formerly of Annapolis, MO went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 3, 2019, at the age of 86 years, 8 months, and 12 days at Meadowbrook Residential Assisted Living in Pilot Knob, MO. Virginia was born February 22, 1933 in Annapolis to Crayton Silas “Cy” Jackson and Verna Muriel (Mann) Jackson, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was one sister in infancy, Anita Darlene Jackson, one brother, Silas Leroy “Bud” Jackson, and her step-mother Helen Breidenthal Jackson. On February 26, 1950 she was united in marriage to Clyde Ray Dinkins who preceded her in death on December 5, 1997. She was a loving mother to her six children; Virginia Rosanne (Jerry) Spitzmiller of Arcadia, Beverly Gail (Mark) Smith of Ironton, Brenda Diann (John) Matchell of Annapolis, Clyde Randall “Randy” (Faith) of Ironton, David Lynn (Chris) of Annapolis and Timothy Scott (Lisa) of Piedmont. In addition to her children, she was a very special “Nana” to her 15 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Virginia is survived by 2 brothers and one sister; Jim (Anita) Jackson of Verdigris, OK, Dr. John P (Paula) Jackson of Farmington, MO, and Elaine (Rev. Eddie) Bone of Park Hills, MO. Virginia was a self taught pianist and organist. One of her many ways of serving God was by sharing this talent. At the young age of 12, Virginia accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and served God throughout her life. Virginia enjoyed sewing and embroidery. Another talent of hers was cooking and baking. She found enjoyment in camping, traveling and taking scenic drives. Other pastimes were reading and listening to gospel music. She read her Bible through many times. A Visitation will be held at the Cole Family Funeral Home in Ironton, MO on Thursday, November 7 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Visitation will resume Friday, November 8 at 10:00 until time of service. A Celebration of Life honoring Virginia will begin at 11:00 AM at the Cole Family Funeral Home. Rev. Bill Jackson, Rev. Eddie Bone, Pastor Mike Harrison, and Rev. Howard Casteel will be officiating the services. Interment will be at the Annapolis Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers are sons; Randy, David and Scott. Pallbearers are grandsons; Jason and Christopher Spitzmiller, Travis Smith, Brad Matchell, Josh and Brett Dinkins, Eric Ross and Luke Dinkins, and son-in-laws Jerry, Mark, and John.
