Thela Marie Standley

Thela Marie Standley entered into Heaven on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at the age of 88 Years, 5 Months, and 5 Days. She was born March 5, 1936, in Bonne Terre, Missouri to the late Jesse and Mary Elleen (Montgomery) Rubottom. On November 6, 1976, Thela was united in marriage to Charles Standley who preceded her in rest on April 2, 2015. Thela is survived by her loving and dedicated daughter, Vicky Reichert and husband Rob of Arcadia, MO, two granddaughters, Becky Loenneke and husband Danny of Jackson, MO, and Sarah Ebert and husband Ande of Jackson, MO, a grandson-in-law Todd Erpenbach of Arcadia, MO, six great-grandchildren, Grant, Olivia, Emma, Samson, Will, and Blake; a brother Stanley Rubottom and wife Patty of Farmington, MO, a sister Joan Brenon of Bonne Terre, MO, a step-daughter Sandie Lewis and husband John of Farmington, MO, and many more loving family members and friends. She is preceded in rest by her parents, and a granddaughter Alison Erpenbach who went home to Heaven on March 26, 2024. After attending school in Esther, MO as a child, Thela became a beautician and cosmetologist and worked as such for most of her adult life. She worked as the number one beautician for Helen's Beauty Shop where she gained many life-long friends, not just clients. Thela also kept very active in her community, she was a member of the country club where she enjoyed playing golf with her friends, she was involved with the Pilot Knob Fire Department, a member of the AV Elks, a member of an official Winnebago group, a member of an unofficial Jeep group (she was cool before Jeeps were cool), and a former member of the Ester Church of God. Thela was known for her elegance and beauty, her kindness and cheerful personality, and her loving and caring nature. She loved her family and friends deeply, and will be missed by all who were blessed to know and love her. A Visitation for friends and family to gather will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024, beginning at 6:00 pm lasting until 8:00 pm from the Cole Family Chapel. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024, beginning at 11:00 am from the Cole Family Chapel. Interment will be held in the Arcadia Valley Memorial Park. Elder Mark Sutton will be officiating the services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
