Sherry Lynne Bennett

Sherry Lynne Bennett, of Ironton, MO, entered into rest on Friday, May 16, 2025, at the age of 69 years, 10 months, and 21 days. She was born June 25, 1955, in Fredericktown, MO, to the late Claude Lewis and Elsie Christine (Sims) Woods. After graduating from Arcadia Valley High School in 1973, Sherry was united in marriage to Dennis Bennett on August 3, 1974. Dennis preceded Sherry in rest on September 1, 1977. To this union a daughter, Brandelyn Bennett, who survives, was born. Also surviving Sherry are three grandchildren, Sydni Boyd, Maiya Helms and husband Andrew, and Tyson Boyd; one great-grandson, Brooks Helms, three brothers, Woody Woods of Ironton, MO, Walter Woods and wife Lynn of Arcadia, MO, and Tony Lewis Woods and companion Angie Causey-Brooks of Arcadia, MO; two sisters, Judy Schumacher of Ironton, MO and Patty Johnson and husband Rich of Ironton, MO; her second husband who helped raise Brandi after her father's passing, Randy Head and wife Paula, and many more loving family members and friends. Sherry is preceded in rest by her parents, her husband and father to Brandi, Dennis Bennett, a brother in infancy, Gary Lewis Woods, a brother-in-law, a sister, Claudia Cloin and husband Sonny, and a brother-in-law, Gary Schumacher. Sherry worked many years for the Arcadia Valley School District as a Teacher's Aide for the Special Education Program and assisted Mr. Trowbridge with many students. Sherry also received her associate's degree in general studies, was the owner and operator of The Hairport Hair Salon, a former member of Arcadia Valley Global Methodist Church, a Lifetime member of the Ironton VFW until it's closing and then transferred membership to the Bismarck VFW, and enjoyed following where the Lord led her to worship on Sunday mornings. Sherry Lynne Bennett was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be missed by all who were blessed to know and love her. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025, beginning at 7:00 pm from the Cole Family Chapel. A visitation for friends and family to gather will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025, beginning at 5:00 pm and lasting until 7:00 pm from the Cole Family Chapel.
