Jane Louise Lawson

Jane Louise Lawson, of Belleview, MO, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, December 22, 2023, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 86 years, 11 months, and 17 days. Jane was born January 4, 1937 in Ironton, Missouri to the late William and Emma (Anderson) Jones. On August 6, 1955, Jane was united in marriage to the love of her life Rev. Joseph “Bud” Lawson who preceded her in rest on August 27, 2023. To this union five children were born, Connie Jane Lawson of Belleview, MO, Blaine Lawson and wife Vicki of Fredericktown, MO, Lyrissa and husband Dr. Richard Snitzer of St. Peters, MO, Brock Lawson of Belleview, MO, all of whom survive, and Baby Lawson who preceded Jane in rest in infancy. Also surviving Jane are six grandchildren, Casey Jane and husband Bob Turnbaugh, Kylie Thurmond, Chris and Libby Wood, Jodi and Billy Ely, Bradley Joseph and Sierra Besemer, and Carli Besemer; nine great-grandchildren, Nolan, Nora Jane, Brody, Easton, Maggie, Colton Blaine, Cora, Raylan Joseph, and Jayden; one brother Barry Jones and wife Linda of Ironton, MO, a sister Judy Neighbors of Bismarck, MO, and many more loving family members, church family members, and friends. Jane is preceded in rest by her parents, her husband Rev. Bud Lawson, a child Baby Lawson in infancy, her grandson Buddy Thurmond, six brothers, Jim Jones, Warren Jones, Maynard Jones, Casey Jones, Rocky Jones, and Stanley Jones; and four sisters, Joyce Crews, June Ward, Juetta Casteel, and Jenny Lewis. In her earlier years, Jane worked as a switchboard operator for Southwestern Bell. After her time with Southwestern Bell, Jane helped Bud build their church, Banner Full Gospel, right next to their home. Jane worked side-by-side with Bud during the whole construction of the church. This was their second home and she took on many roles in the church including secretary, music leader, teacher of children in either Sunday School or when they operated the Banner Christian Academy, and she prayed right along with Brother Bud during every prayer and service. She would help with church services, funerals, weddings, celebrations, Jane could, and would do it all. Jane loved playing piano and singing for her Lord and church. She was Brother Bud’s right hand woman, and he couldn’t have done all the good he did without her by his side. This was a marriage that was hand-picked by God, and they served him to the best of their abilities, every day, and to the very end! Jane Lawson loved her God, her family, her church, and her friends. She will be missed by all who were blessed to know and love her. A Visitation for friends and family to gather and worship will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, beginning at 4:00 pm and lasting until 8:00 pm from the Cole Family Chapel. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2023, beginning at 11:00 am from the Cole Family Chapel. Interment will follow the services in the Layne cemetery in Park Hills, MO. Rev. Dwight Jones will be officiating the services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Layne cemetery in honor of Jane Lawson.
