James Jim Ralph Goggin

James "Jim" Ralph Goggin of Arcadia, MO went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at the age of 78 years, 7 months, and 29 days. He was born March 19, 1942 in Ironton, MO to the late Ralph Edwin and Wilma C. Keathley Goggin. After graduating from high school Jim attended Flat River College and went on to have several different careers; he worked as the Book Mobile driver for Ozark Regional Library, he worked for Asarco, Amax, and went on to become the Iron County Clerk from 1987 to 2004. Jim's passion to serve his community can also be shown in his memberships in the First Baptist Church in Ironton where he served as Deacon, Arcadia Valley Jaycees chapter, the A.V. Elks, the Kiwanis Club, past President of the Arcadia Valley Memorial Park, and many other roles in and around the Valley. On February 23, 1963 Jim was united in marriage to the love of his life Virginia Waide Goggin who survives. To this union a son was born, Waide Goggin who preceded Jim in death on November 27, 2015. Surviving Jim are his wife Virginia, a daughter-in-law Debbie Goggin, one sister Sissy Goggin Miller of Farmington, three grandchildren; Joe Goggin and wife Denise of Arcadia, Michael Goggin of Pilot Knob, Ruby Goggin of Pilot Knob, five great-grandchildren (with one on the way), his very best friend Sam, a brother-in-law Charles England of Park Hills, his church family, and many more loving family members and friends. Jim will be missed by all who knew and loved him, but if we keep our faith as he did, we will be reunited with him again. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, his son Waide, a sister Barbie England, and a brother-in-law George Miller. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 20, 2020 at 11:00 AM from the First Baptist Church of Ironton. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2020 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM from the First Baptist Church in Ironton. Interment will follow the services in the Arcadia Valley Memorial Park. Pastor Aaron Boeving and Pastor Ryan Nichols will be officiating the services.
