Hazel "June" Hodge

Hazel “June” Hodge, of Bismarck, MO, entered into rest with her family by her side on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at the age of 94 years, 1 month, and 15 days. She was born April 27, 1931, in Enough, MO, a daughter of the late Richard John "Dick" and Novie Cecil (Lewis) Barton. On September 15, 1962. June was united in marriage to Huey Hodge who preceded her in rest on September 10, 1998. To this union four children were born, Marquis Wayne Hodge who preceded in rest in infancy, Glenda Boyer and husband John of Bismarck, MO, who survive, Zynda Montgomery and husband Willard, Sr. "Bill" of Park Hills, MO, who survive, and Phillip Hodge of Ironton, MO, who survives. Also surviving June are 12 grandchildren Jyssika Luna, Brandi Boyer, Sarah Boyer, Zynda Stallins and husband A.J., Jason Boyer, Jennifer Boyer, Zachairie Montgomery and wife Jessica, Christopher Montgomery and wife Tabitha, Samantha Wilson and husband Jeffery, Willard Montgomery, Jr. and fiancée Ashley Lashley, Timothy Hodge ands wife Rhianniah, and Lia Hodge and fiancé Dane Wilson; 27 great-grandchildren with one on the way, Chris, David, Gabriel, Jasper, Davina, Peyton, Preston, Avery, Carter, Blake, Isaiah, David, Jeremiah, Courtney and husband Tyler, Jennifer and husband Brandon, Aidden, Savannah, Harper, Wyatt, Raeleigh, Brenden, Victoria, Kaycee, Lynyrd, Elayniah, Jaymison, and August, two great great-grandchildren with one on the way, one sister, Velma Phegley, three sisters-in-law, Sharon Barton, Wanda Underwood, and Brenda baker; one brother-in-law, Ivan Lamb, and many more loving family members and friends. She is preceded in rest by her parents, Dick and Novie, her husband, Huey Hodge, a son in infancy Marquis Wayne Hodge, four brothers, Norman Barton, Herman “Butch” Barton, Sonny Barton, and Fritz Barton; and four sisters, Mazel Wood, Mary Lou Nichols, Helen Lamb, and Cathy Barton in infancy. June enjoyed taking care of her family in many ways, and two major way she could accomplish that task was embroidering quilt tops for her family, and babysitting for her family. She was a skilled at embroidery and there wasn’t any quilt pattern she couldn’t make. She also enjoyed watching her favorite tv shows, “Family Feud”, “Days of Our Lives”, “Deal or No Deal”, and “Dallas” (the original show). She could also get laundry cleaner than anyone, was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church, was baptized in Enough at the Walnut Grove Baptist Church, and more than anything loved her family. Hazel “June” Hodge was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be missed by all who were blessed to know and love her. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025, beginning at 11:00 am from the Cole Family Funeral Home. A Visitation for friends and family to gather will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, beginning at 5:00 pm and lasting until 8:00 pm from the Cole Family Funeral Home. Pastor Joshua Keenon will be officiating the services. Interment will follow the services in the Barton Cemetery in Boss, MO.
